Help us put some W.O.W. in the world — Wigs On Warriors!
We’re creating a mobile wig salon for The Gathering Place to take free wigs to cancer survivors.
Let’s make it easier for women in underserved areas and the most medically fragile to feel empowered as they fight cancer.
No one going through cancer treatments should have to pay for a wig. We can’t cure cancer (yet!) but we can empower those fighting it.
When I got breast cancer at 41, chemotherapy knocked out all my hair. I bought a wig, but the salon that promised to style it to look just like me ruined it. The thing looked like roadkill! My hair was already falling out, so I faced the world bald.
Going bald made me feel like a patient, not a person. Losing your hair can make you feel powerless. We want to give you back your power.
Years after I recovered, I was speaking at a survivor event for Cancer Services of Northeast Indiana. They had a free wig salon! I took photos and gave The Gathering Place in Cleveland seed money to start a free wig salon.
We grew three! There’s a Regina Brett Wig Salon at The Gathering Place on the East side, the West side of Cleveland, and at MetroHealth hospital.
Let’s make it easier for the next warrior. Help us create a mobile wig salon to take wigs and other services directly to our cancer warriors.
All the money you donate will go to the wig salon and everything we need to fill it, get it rolling and keep it rolling! Please donate today!!
